Along The Creek

“Along The Creek” acrylic 18”x24” gallery stretched canvas.
This one was painted based upon a photo reference from a lady who lives in Round Lake Wisconsin. I feel I’ve been there before!
I’ve driven through this country from east to west with friends or by myself. I’ve taken both the routes through northern Ontario and the roads through the US and I’ve seen this landscape in many places. It elicits the feeling of pease and serenity.
Painting this one didn’t come easily at first – or in the middle – or at the end – lol, but the colours were always the lure – the look of the brilliant yellow and orange through to the burnt umber. So I persevered to finish this one and I enjoyed playing with these colours in the process.

Stratford In The Fall

Acrylic painting on a 18″x 24″ gallery stretched canvas. In the heart of Stratford Ontario you will find Victoria Lake and the Avon River. A very talked local photographer, Fred Gonder, chose this scene and allowed me the opportunity to paint it with my take on it. It took me awhile to find the angle of this shot and when I did finally found it, it made the painting of it come together.

Lake Victoria

‘Lake Victoria’ – Stratford ON CA – acrylic on 16”w x 12”h stretched canvass – photo reference provided courtesy of Fred Gonder, local photography extraordinaire.
My interest in landscape paintings has always been stimulated by the fall colors in Ontario. This city has a vibrant downtown which includes excellent walking paths around the lake and river. The fall colors are just exquisite.

Festival Park

Acrylic – 8″ x 11″ on gallery stretched canvas.
The park is actually much bigger than it looks in this painting. It lies beneath the Festival Theatre, which is home to many amazing theatre productions for most of the year, and beside Lake Victoria, in downtown Stratford Ontario. The park is used for many things such as soccer, cricket, picnics and occasionally firework displays. Honestly, I’m very lucky to be able to live here.
