Path To The Lake

Path To The Lake – 20″ x 24″ – acrylic on gallery stretched canvas. The setting of this particular painting is in Northern Maine, however, I feel you could find it in many places in Canada as well.

Familiar Meadow

SOLD

Familiar Meadow 12″ x 24″ Acrylic on gallery stretched canvas. I found peace looking at this scene. I could easily picture myself there. The colours of the leaves are very comforting and brilliant at the same time.

Along The Creek

“Along The Creek” acrylic 18”x24” gallery stretched canvas.
This one was painted based upon a photo reference from a lady who lives in Round Lake Wisconsin. I feel I’ve been there before!
I’ve driven through this country from east to west with friends or by myself. I’ve taken both the routes through northern Ontario and the roads through the US and I’ve seen this landscape in many places. It elicits the feeling of pease and serenity.
Painting this one didn’t come easily at first – or in the middle – or at the end – lol, but the colours were always the lure – the look of the brilliant yellow and orange through to the burnt umber. So I persevered to finish this one and I enjoyed playing with these colours in the process.

Along The River

SOLD

“Along The River” – 16″x20″ acrylic on gallery stretched canvas – based on the beautiful setting of Doncaster River Park north of Montreal (Quebec, Canada)

Golden Sunrise

“Golden Sunrise” – 14″x18″ acrylic on gallery stretched canvas

Shoreline Greens

“Shoreline Greens” – acrylic on gallery stretched canvas measuring 18″ x 24″. This painting presents a peaceful line of trees along a shoreline area of Otter Lake, ON. Otter Lake is accessible via Weslemkoon Lake, a lake where our family cottage was located and where cottaging memories were made. The artwork emphasizes the importance of noticing the stillness and subtle shifts in nature.

Please note – photo credit to Peter Warren who just happens to enjoy this lake as well. Thanks Peter.

Stratford In The Fall

SOLD

Acrylic painting on a 18″x 24″ gallery stretched canvas. In the heart of Stratford Ontario you will find Victoria Lake and the Avon River. A very talented local photographer, Fred Gonder, chose this scene and allowed me the opportunity to paint it with my take on it. It took me awhile to find the angle of this shot and when I did finally found it, it made the painting of it come together.

Birches In Fall

SOLD

“Birches In Fall” – acrylic on canvas 11″ x 14″ is meant to evoke a sense of peaceful reflection and quiet warmth. The vibrant autumn colous and slender white trunks of the Birch Trees create a feeling of gentle calm, as if I was standing quietly in the woods and breathing in the crisp fall air.

Aspen Forest

Aspen Forest – Acrylic on 18” x 24” canvas block. Aspen Forest is a captivating acrylic painting that immerses the viewer in the enchanting beauty of nature during the autumn season.

Stratford’s Autumn Elegance

Stratford’s Autumn Elegance is an acrylic painting 12″ x 9″ on gallery stretched canvas block. It portrays an autumn landscape with vibrant trees, a covered path and the steeple on top of the old church in downtown Stratford ON all reflected in the waters of Lake Victoria.

Spring Emerging

Spring emerging – acrylic – 11”x14” on canvas – It captures the opening of spring at Presqu’ile Provincial Park with Lake Ontario’s blue waters and the contract of dark trees against a light sky. Inspired by the retreat of ice along the shore line and the promise of warmer weather to come.

Colour Reflections

SOLD

Colour Reflections is an 8″x8″ acrylic painting on canvas block. It captures a sunset over Red Bay Ontario on Lake Huron, a calm lake, blending warm and cool colours with reflections on the water. Red Bay is famous for it’s immensely vibrant red sunsets.

The North Channel

“The North Shore” – 12”x16” oil on gallery stretched canvas block. Edges painted with continuous landscape.

Andy’s Bay

Acrylic on 12″ x 16″ on gallery stretched canvas. Tucked away in Muskoka, this bay holds a special place for me. I wanted too capture not just its stillness, but the vibrant energy that fall brings to familiar places. Nature shifts, yet somehow stays the same – steady, beautiful, alive.

Lake Victoria

SOLD

‘Lake Victoria’ – Stratford ON CA – acrylic on 16”w x 12”h stretched canvass – photo reference provided courtesy of Fred Gonder, local photography extraordinaire.

My interest in landscape paintings has always been stimulated by the fall colors in Ontario. This city has a vibrant downtown which includes excellent walking paths around the lake and river. The fall colors are just exquisite.

Silent Petals

SOLD

Acrylic Painting – !2″ x 12″ on gallery stretched canvas.

This piece was inspired by a photo from local photographer Will Bailey and I wanted to honour the quiet, subtle leaf work that framed the flower. It is about noticing the small details that often go unseen, a moment of calm in everyday.
